Yesterday I bought some equity in my account due to which margin went a bit down and for the credit spread algo.. buy leg got executed but sell leg got failed due to margin error.
But the buy leg was not closed then by the algo and since there is no option in dhanhq to close a speicifc algo position.. so manually closing the extra buy leg closed the buy leg of algo which placed the order first in that same strike price.
Kindly track the positions at your end and if there is a margin issue after 3 tries, please close the position naked buy position from the algo itself.
Also please provide a feature to close algo positions on dhanHQ. Same feature is available in stratzy app for individual algo.
Also if possible please place the order in multiples of 1 lot of credit spread, so extra margin issue will not occur. If there is not enough margin to place 325 qty, place just 260 qty.
Hi @ProTrader
Thank you for sharing your suggestions.
I would first like to highlight that, for smooth execution, it is important to maintain funds equivalent to the capital allocated to the Algo. This helps avoid margin-related order rejections arising from insufficient available funds.
Regarding the other points you’ve raised, I would like to mention that a similar query has already been addressed here. Request you to please refer to that discussion once.
Regarding your suggestion to automatically close the executed Buy leg after multiple retries, this isn’t possible, as the Algo generates exit orders only when its predefined exit signal is triggered. It does not independently exit a position before the strategy’s exit conditions are met.
As for splitting a trade into multiple smaller orders, that isn’t feasible either, as it would result in multiple executions for the same trade, increasing brokerage and transaction costs for users while also adding execution complexity.
I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. I’ve noted your suggestions, and we’ll continue evaluating user inputs as we enhance the platform.
