I noticed something unusual today with my Stratzy overnight credit spread algos and wanted to understand whether this is expected behaviour or whether there could be an issue with the exit logic/execution.
I had 4 overnight credit spread positions carrying very similar PUT spreads. At market open, 3 of the positions were exited and booked substantial profits, while the 4th position remained open. Because the market subsequently moved, the unrealized profit on that position has reduced considerably.
The three positions that were successfully exited were:
| Algo | Spread | Booked P&L |
|---|---|---|
| Delta-Leverage Credit Spread Overnight | Buy 22950 PE / Sell 23350 PE | ₹25,447.50 |
| Delta-Ripple Credit Spread Overnight | Buy 22900 PE / Sell 23300 PE | ₹25,837.50 |
| Zen Credit Spread Overnight | Buy 22900 PE / Sell 23300 PE | ₹27,933.75 |
However, Ratio-Return Credit Spread Exit-Early remained open:
Buy 22950 PE @ ₹14.25
Sell 23350 PE @ ₹102.65
Current P&L shown in the screenshot is only around ₹8,970.
What makes this particularly strange is that the Ratio-Return position had exactly the same strikes — 22950 PE / 23350 PE — as the Delta-Leverage position, which was successfully exited near market open with a booked profit of ₹25,447.50.
So effectively:
Delta-Leverage: 22950/23350 PUT spread → exited → ₹25.4K booked profit
Ratio-Return: 22950/23350 PUT spread → remained open → profit subsequently reduced to ₹8.97K
I understand that different algos can have different exit conditions, even when the positions look similar. However, given that the spread structure was identical and the difference in P&L is significant, I would like to understand why the Ratio-Return Exit-Early algo did not exit around the same time.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
It would be helpful if the Stratzy team could clarify:
-
Was the Ratio-Return position supposed to remain open according to its strategy logic, or was an exit signal generated but not executed?
-
If an exit signal was generated, was there any order rejection, liquidity issue, API issue, or execution failure?
-
Since this is specifically an “Exit-Early” strategy, what condition prevented the exit when the spread had a considerably higher profit near market open?
-
Can the signal and order logs for this position be checked to confirm whether the behaviour was correct?
I have attached screenshots showing both the three completed positions and the still-open Ratio-Return position for comparison.
The difference is quite substantial, so I would appreciate clarification on whether this is expected strategy behaviour or an execution/exit issue.
