Indian equity markets are expected to remain cautious as elevated crude oil prices, rising U.S. Treasury yields and continued geopolitical uncertainty weigh on overall sentiment.
Nifty 50 remains under significant technical pressure after the sharp decline in the last session, with the broader structure staying decisively weak.

Why Does Crude Affect Paint Companies?
What does a barrel of crude oil have to do with the paint on your walls? More than you might think.
Paint companies use several petrochemical-derived raw materials such as solvents, resins, binders and other chemicals. So, when crude prices rise, the cost of these inputs can also increase.
That creates a direct problem for paint companies: higher input costs → pressure on gross margins.
Companies can try to pass these costs on through price hikes, but that becomes difficult when demand is weak or competition is intense. Recent industry commentary highlights exactly this margin-versus-volume trade-off.
The reverse is also true. Falling crude prices can ease raw-material costs and support margins, making crude an important variable to track when analysing paint companies.
The takeaway: When crude moves, don’t look only at oil companies. Paints, tyres, chemicals and several other sectors can feel the impact through their input costs.
