As of now there is no feature to close individual algo positions.
Please give a button to close active positions specific to an algo in Dhan HQ.
This is helpful incase we want to close a loss making position for an algo, we cannot directly close from the dhan portal as sometimes multiple algos take position in same strike and doing manual close, algos are not able to track the positions properly.

Hi @ProTrader
Thank you for sharing your suggestion.
The Dhan Algos marketplace has been designed with the vision of providing a fully automated Algo trading experience with minimal to no manual intervention. Keeping this in mind, the platform currently does not provide an option to manually place or close orders at the individual Algo level.
The Algo is designed to manage its positions and risk inherently as per its predefined logic. It places exit orders, including stop-loss exits wherever applicable, based on the strategy conditions without requiring user intervention.
That said, we do understand the use case you’ve highlighted, especially in scenarios where multiple Algos may have positions in the same strike. We’ve noted your feedback and will certainly evaluate whether something along these lines can be considered in the future.
On a related note, we’re also working on a feature that aligns closely with your requirement, allowing users to manage Algo-level as well as overall portfolio-level risk and profit parameters. We’re excited to share more details once it’s ready, so stay tuned for upcoming announcements.
We appreciate your valuable feedback!
Thank you for your insights. I do not envision this feature for manual intervention but mainly for scenarios where algo has not exited a trade or there are issues around exit.
So we will be able to exit the algo trade manually in that case and as explained where multiple algo have positions in same strike, manually doing it from dhan broker is not effective as the position of algo which has placed the trade earlier will get closed (which is not intended)
Hi @ProTrader
Understood your point.
I get the challenge you’re referring to, especially when manual intervention results in positions being mapped on a FIFO basis, which may consider the position of a different Algo as closed than the one you intended to exit.
We’ve noted this requirement and understand how an Algo-specific exit option could help in such scenarios. While we can’t commit to this feature at the moment, your feedback has been shared with the team for consideration as we continue enhancing the platform.
Stratzy app have this option, then why not in dhanhq?
Hi @ProTrader
That’s a fair question.
The key difference is that algos.dhan.co and Stratzy (stratzy.in) are two different platforms with different product philosophies.
On algos.dhan.co, Stratzy is the Algo provider, while the marketplace is designed and managed by the broker. The platform has been built with the vision of providing a fully automated Algo trading experience with minimal to no manual intervention. As a result, users cannot manually manage positions on the marketplace.
On Stratzy, since it is our own platform, we have greater flexibility in building platform-specific features and controls for users.
If having manual controls at the Algo level is important for your trading workflow (although we generally recommend allowing the Algo to manage its positions automatically), you may consider deploying your Algos directly through the Stratzy platform.

I understand but sometimes there are genuine execution issues like margin error, or just 1 leg placed from algo as has happened earlier.
Manually closing the algo position is useful, as mentioned earlier doing so from the broker is only feasible if algos are in different strike but many times multiple algos are in same strike and closing the extra buy leg (sell failed due to margin error).. we need to close manually.
I will really like to see it, also hasn’t Dhan aquired stratzy platform. Stratzy web UI was recently updated to match DhanHQ, so it not like both are different. I understand execution may be different due to prices but the feature available should be same for both considering that both are under Dhan umbrella. I really don’t understand why feature differences should be there in stratzy and dhanHQ considering both are deploying the same strategies.
Individual also position closing is a basic feature to have. Not every error can be handle from the algo, in cases where algo fail we will like to manually close the positions instead of bearing losses due to unfavourable positions.
I will really like you to give it a thought. Having paid my annual subscription to DhanHQ, I will not like to move to stratzy (your suggestion is not in good faith of moving to stratzy - instead of making your system robust you are simply asking customer to move to stratzy)
.
Its not that with that option I will close algos manually always, its just to manage risk in case of erroneous executions. I also understand that algos work better.
Hi @ProTrader
I completely understand the use case you’re referring to, especially in scenarios where a user wants to manage an exceptional execution case rather than intervene in the Algo’s normal functioning.
As mentioned earlier, I’ve already noted this requirement and shared it with the relevant team for consideration. We genuinely value such feedback, but at the same time we also need to carefully evaluate every request against the overall product vision, platform architecture, and the experience it creates for all users. While I can’t commit to this feature at the moment, your suggestion remains under consideration.
Also, just to clarify one point, although Dhan and Stratzy are part of the same parent group (Raise Financial Services), they are independent platforms with different product philosophies and development roadmaps. As a result, certain features available on one platform may not necessarily be available on the other.
I appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective and suggestions. Feedback like this helps us prioritise future improvements.
