🔍 Zoom Out: The Ultimate Cheat Code for Your Peace of Mind

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Zoom Out: The Ultimate Cheat Code for Your Peace of Mind

If you find yourself opening the Stratzy app every few hours just to stare at your live P&L dashboard, stop right there. Take a deep breath. Let’s talk about the biggest psychological trap in algorithmic investing.

Because Stratzy makes execution as simple as one click, it’s incredibly tempting to constantly log in, monitor the live numbers, and track every single trade signal as it hits your broker account.

But when you monitor a quantitative strategy tick-by-tick, you aren’t investing you’re volunteering for an emotional rollercoaster. If you zoom in too close, every minor drawdown feels like a crisis and every small green day feels like euphoria. You end up experiencing anxiety 100 times a day. :chart_decreasing::chart_increasing:

Here is the truth successful algorithmic traders live by: Zooming in destroys peace of mind. Zooming out reveals the strategy.

Why buy an algo strategy if you’re still going to stress like a day trader? Stratzy is built to free you from the screen because the math does the heavy lifting:

  • The Marathon Mindset: Whether you’re running Option Buying, Credit Spreads, or Equity baskets, these models are battle-tested over years of market ups and downs.

  • Zooming Past the Noise: A bad week or a flat month is completely normal. It’s just a tiny bump in a much larger, winning mathematical formula.

  • The Golden Rule: Track your progress over months and quarters. Checking your live P&L multiple times a day is only going to trigger bad emotional decisions.

Next time you feel the urge to micromanage your deployed capital or second-guess a rebalance alert, remember this post.

Trust the backtests. Trust the data. Execute your alerts when they pop up, close the app, and go enjoy your day while the technology handles the heavy lifting. :man_in_lotus_position:

My dream is to only open the Stratzy app on weekends to check my P&L just like you suggest. But realistically, is that even possible right now?

You need to fix your execution glitches before making bold posts about ‘peace of mind.’ Missing an entry order is fine because no capital is at risk. But having an exit order stuck in pending is incredibly dangerous.

For example, in a credit spread, if the buy leg exits but the sell leg remains pending (which has happened to me), I am suddenly left with a naked short. Without that hedge, my entire capital could be wiped out. You cannot tell users to look away from the screen when your system randomly leaves positions unhedged.

Hi @Akhil_Joseph
As per SEBI regulations now, Algos can only make limit orders and cannot send market orders. We are using LPP(Limit Price Protection) to tackle this.

This is a real challenge to solve for right now, which we are working with brokers as with huge volatility limit orders are tend to miss even in LPP.

We are creating order throttling systems which will solve for this but till then you can enhance the slippage tolerance in Stratzy app to maximum.
